UNITEX HIGH GLOSS SEALER is a two component, moisture insensitive, self-priming, high gloss epoxy sealer. HIGH GLOSS SEALER uses a cycloaliphatic amine curing system for color retention and chemical resistance. HIGH GLOSS SEALER can be used for sealing interior concrete floors and as a trowel-down application as well as for locking in aggregate on the Unitex Type III epoxy overlay system.

Condition material to 65-85 deg. F before using

Limitations

Material is a vapor barrier after curing.

Not for exterior slabs on grade

Vapor pressure not to exceed 3 lbs./1000 sq. ft.

Do not thin with solvents.

Minimum application temperature 50 deg. F

Minimum age of concrete must be 28 days prior to applying product as a concrete sealer.

Cleanup

EQUIPMENT: Uncured material can be removed with Unitex CITRUS CLEANER or other approved solvent. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. MATERIAL: Collect with absorbent material. Flush area with water. Dispose of in accordance with local, state, and federal disposal regulations.

 

Application

1. SURFACE PREPARATION: Clean surface by shotblasting or sandblasting to create a bonding profile and to remove curing compounds and all contaminants (dirt, oil, grease, laitance, etc.) Remove dust and debris by blowing off with oil-free compressed air.
2. MIXING: Mechanically mix two parts by volume of component A and one part by volume of component B with a Jiffy mixer and low-speed drill at 300 rpm for a minimum of three minutes, moving mixer around edges of container to ensure complete mix. Mix only the quantity that can be used within its gel time.
3. PLACEMENT: Apply by pouring out a ribbon of mixed High Gloss Sealer and spread with a notched squeegee and back roll or apply with a lambs wool applicator at the rate of approximately 100 square feet per gallon depending on the profile and porosity of the substrate.
Allow product to fully cure before opening to traffic.

First Aid

EYE CONTACT: Flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Contact physician immediately.


RESPIRATORY CONTACT:
Remove person to fresh air.


SKIN CONTACT:
Remove any contaminated clothing. Remove epoxy immediately with a dry cloth or paper towel. Solvents should not be used as they carry the irritant into the skin. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.

CURED EPOXY RESINS ARE INNOCUOUS.

Product is a strong sensitizer. Use of safety goggles and chemical resistant gloves are recommended.

Use of a NIOSH/MSHA organic vapor respirator is recommended if ventilation is inadequate. Avoid breathing vapors. Avoid skin contact.
