UNITEX Segmental Bridge Adhesive (USBA) is a solvent free, two-component, high modulus, moisture-insensitive epoxy adhesive designed to bond and seal segmental precast elements. It conforms to the current ASTM C 881, Type VI requirements. It is available in three application temperature ranges, LT (low temperature), MT (medium temperature), and HT (high temperature).
Each is specifically designed for use in the following temperature ranges:
USBA-LT:40°F - 65°F (4°C - 18°C)
USBA-MT:60°F - 85°F (16°C - 29°C)
USBA-HT:80°F - 115°F (27°C - 46°C)
Compliances
ASTM C881:Type VI, Grade 3, Classes D, E, F.

Appearance
Shelf Life: 2 years in original unopened container
Storage Conditions: Store dry at 40°F - 95°F (4°C - 35°C).Condition material to 70°F - 75°F (21°C - 24°C) before using.
Coverage
At a film thickness of 1/16” (1.6 mm) the yield is 26 sq. ft. / gal. (2.4 sq. m. / L). Coverage rate is approximate and depends on porosity and profile of concrete.
Packaging
3 gal. / 11.6 L. units (3 one gal. cans)
15 gal. / 58.1 L. units (3 five gal. pails)
165 gal. / 640 L. units (3 fifty-five gal. drums)
Limitations
Do not add additional fillers or solvents.
High temperatures will shorten the gel time of USBA.
Low temperatures will extend the cure time of USBA.
Use the correct formulation of USBA for the ambient air and surface temperatures.
Cleanup
Uncured USBA can be removed with Unitex CITRUS CLEANER or approved solvent. Collect with absorbent material. Flush area with water. Dispose of in accordance with local, state, and federal disposal regulations. Cured USBA can only be removed mechanically.

Application
Surface Preparation
Surfaces must be clean, sound, and free from frost, standing water, laitance, form release agents, curing compounds and other contaminants. Surfaces may be dry or damp.
MixinG
USBA is supplied in factory proportioned units comprised of the correct quantities of component A (resin) and component B (hardener). Pre-mix each component separately using a slow speed drill (400 rpm).
Pour two parts of components A and one part of component B by volume into a clean pail and mix thoroughly for 3 minutes until a uniform gray color is achieved. Mix only the quantity that can be used within its gel time.
Application
Using a trowel, brush, or gloved hand, apply USBA to the prepared surfaces of both segments to be joined. Work into the substrate to ensure complete wetting out of the surface area. Secure the segments firmly together within the open working time of the epoxy.

First Aid
EYE CONTACT: Flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Contact physician immediately.
RESPIRATORY CONTACT: Remove person to fresh air.
SKIN CONTACT: Remove any contaminated clothing. Remove epoxy immediately with a dry cloth or paper towel. Solvents should not be used as they carry the irritant into the skin. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.
CURED EPOXY RESINS ARE INNOCUOUS.
