A water-based form seasoning for new, unused aluminum forms. It oxidizes the surface of aluminum forms for quick, easy release of concrete.
Compliances
Corps of Engineers CEGS-03300, Section 10.8 Form Coating
Navy Dock and Piers 56359
V.O.C. compliant |
Features
Ideal for use in hot weather
Eliminates residual oil, creates less mess than other means of seasoning
Cost effective
Workable down to 40°F
Lengthens form life
V.O.C. compliant oils |
Usage
Seasoning and conditioning of new aluminum forms
Coverage
Test small area of form prior to using to determine if oxidation takes place, since some aluminum alloys may resist. Apply to point of rejection, typically 300-400 sq. ft./gal. or 7.4-9.8 sq. m/L.
Packaging
5 gal./18.9 L pails
55 gal./208.2 L drums
275 gal./1,041 L totes
Limitations
Protect from freezing |
Application
Apply in one direction over entire form, then roll in opposite direction over entire form. Leave for approximately 1 hour. Hose off at 100 psi or lower. The use of higher pressure or brooms will eliminate some of the treated surface. Thoroughly seasoned forms will have a dull gray surface as opposed to a shiny new surface. If there are any shiny areas on the surface of the form, it will require re-seasoning. We recommend re-seasoning the entire form.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Forms and equipment should be free from dirt, hardened concrete and foreign matter. Arrange forms face up, preferably in the sun, as product works best in warm weather.
