Multi-purpose, high-strength, non-shrink epoxy patching mortar
|
|
Features
- Chemically bonds to concrete
- Durable, low modulus
- Withstands freeze/thaw cycles
- Semi-rigid for shock absorption
- Compatible with Type III epoxy overlays
- High tensile, compressive, and early strengths
- Provides textured bonding profile
|
|
Description
A three-component, 100% solids, multi-purpose, high-strength, non-shrink epoxy
patching mortar for longer lasting patches with excellent workability. The system
combines a high quality epoxy resin and curing agent with an engineered blend of graded
aggregates.
|
|
Specifically engineered to provide superior patching, while demonstrating physical
characteristics similar to the concrete substrate.
|
|
Usage
- Patching concrete on bridge decks, parking decks, floors, columns and beams
- Repairing spalled areas
- Plant maintenance

Application
SURFACE PREPARATION: Step 1: Saw cut approx. 1/2 in./1.2 cm deep around perimeter
of area to be patched and remove all deteriorated and unsound concrete with chipping
hammers not to exceed 30 lbs.
Step 2: Thoroughly clean patch area and exposed reinforcing steel by sandblasting to white
metal finish. Vacuum all dust and loose particles from area.
MIXING: PRO-POXY 2500 is shipped in a pre-measured .5 cu. ft./0.014 cu. m unit or a 2 cu.
ft./0.056 cu. m unit. Mix complete units only.
Step 1: Pre-mix each liquid component thoroughly.
Step 2: Pour components A and B into pail and mix thoroughly for 3 minutes with a Jiffy type
mixer on low-speed (300 rpm) until material is of uniform consistency. Keep mixer at bottom of pail
to avoid introducing air.
Step 3: Slowly add component C (aggregate) to mixed liquid components. Mix thoroughly until
all aggregate is wetted out.
PATCHING CONCRETE: Prime patch area with mixed components A and B with brush or roller.
Immediately place patch. Set screeds or float to desired level, strike off, thoroughly compact and
finish the surface.
|
|
Limitations
- Minimum substrate temperature is 40°F (5°C).
- Minimum age of concrete for bonding should be 5-7 days.

|
Cleanup
EQUIPMENT: Uncured material can be removed with Unitex CITRI-CLEAN or other
approved solvent. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
MATERIAL: Collect with absorbent material. Flush area with water. Dispose of in
accordance with local, state and federal disposal regulations.
|
|
First Aid
EYE CONTACT: Flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Contact physician
immediately.
RESPIRATORY CONTACT: Remove person to fresh air.
SKIN CONTACT: Remove any contaminated clothing. Remove epoxy immediately with a dry cloth or
paper towel. Solvents should not be used as they carry the irritant into the skin. Wash skin
thoroughly with soap and water.
CURED EPOXY RESINS ARE INNOCUOUS.
