A special combination of organic and inorganic chemicals designed to create a chemical and physical bond to the masonry surface, allowing it to breathe while repelling water. Breathing is necessary to allow moisture vapor to escape. The sealer allows each rain to cleanse and wash the hydrocarbons and other impurities and discolorations off the building, preventing their being sucked back into the pores.
